SUMMARY:“Krishnaa” - Jheelnagari Music Festival Mumbai
DESCRIPTION:More details coming soon…..\n\n \n\nA calling to Lord Krishna\n\nThis production is a collection of traditional pieces that all address Krishna.  Krishna is seen from the perspectives of Andal\, Meera\, Radha\, Yashoda\, and a Gopika. The production begins with the Andal Kautvam and verses from the Nachiyar Tirumozhi where Andal imagines lord Krishna to be her groom. This is followed by a Varnam in Raga Charukeshi\, by Lalgudi Jayaraman\, where the journey of a Gopika to self realisation through her longing for Krishna is expressed. Madumeikkum kanne\, a tamil folk song that is a conversation between Yashoda and little krishna follows the Varnam. Krishna wants to go out to tend the cows and Yashoda is trying to convince him that he’s too small to do that. Lalita Lavanga\, an Ashtapadi where the sakhi tells Radha to let go of her anger and go to krishna is the next composition in the production. The performance ends with the Kalinga Nartana Tillana of Oothukadu Ventaka Kavi\, followed by a Bhajan of Meera.\n\nRun Time: 90 mins\nAge: All ages\n\nVocals: Raghuram R & Nandakumar Unnikrishnan\nNattuvangam: D Prasanna Kumar\nMridangam: Harsha Samaga & N Kesavan\nFlute: Mahesha Swamy\nJathi Composition (Varnam) : G Gurumurthy
