“Krishnaa” – Sydney

Krishnaa A calling to Lord Krishna This production is a collection of traditional pieces that all address Krishna. Krishna is seen from the perspectives of Andal, Meera, Radha, Yashoda, and a Gopika. The production begins with the Andal Kautvam and verses from the Nachiyar tirumozhi where Andal imagines lord Krishna to be her groom. This is followed by a Varnam in Raga Charukeshi, by Lalgudi Jayaraman, where the journey of a Gopika to self realisation through her longing for Krishna is expressed. The performance ends with the Kalinga Nartana Tillana of Oothukadu Ventaka Kavi, followed by a Bhajan of Meera. Run Time: 90 mins Age: All ages
